BEAUTY DOs AND DON'Ts
Wear this… do that… stand there… weddings are full of commands. Sorry, here are a few more – but when the photos come back, you’ll thank us.
DO
Refresh your hair cut: Hair stylist Bruce Reed, owner of Halo Salon near Charlotte, NC says make sure you have your hair trimmed and the color touched-up a week or two before the wedding.
Drink lots of water: Your skin will look clearer and you'll help flush out the "toxins" you might still have left from the bachelorette party.
Smile: Even if you despise the dress, have had it up to here with your difficult Frankenbride, or are just generally ready for the whole thing to be behind you, a smile will help you get in the mood to enjoy the celebration.
DON'T you dare!
Get sunburned: If you burn easily, you’ll want to add an extra layer of sunscreen in the weeks before the wedding so you aren’t peeling or don’t have obvious tan lines in your bridesmaid dress.
Pour on the salt: Avoid excess sodium in the days before the wedding. If you’re bloated your dress and shoes might become uncomfortable.
Upstage the bride: Believe it or not, there are bridesmaids out there who feel the urge to outshine the bride (shame on you – really). This is a simple situation: it’s the bride’s day, not yours, so back down and stay in the background.
