STOCK THE BAR
If the bride and groom drink, this can be a fun way to shower the couple’s with the liquors and wines that are essential for a well-stocked bar.
DECOR
Flowers
Blooming flowers are always a good choice for a shower. Gorgeous blooms add instant beauty as a centerpiece or other table decoration.
Favors
It’s a great idea to use favors that can double as decoration. You’ll spend less money on decor and your favors will help reinforce the theme of the shower. Check out the dollar store and buy inexpensive martini glasses. Fill them with water and float a votive candle or flower blossom. You can also buy mini bottles of liquor and corkscrews/openers as game prizes.
FOOD
Because of the adult nature of the theme, a stock the bar party is a great choice for an evening shower. Since there’s alcohol involved, be sure to have some hearty, substantive food available so your guests won’t be imbibing on an empty stomach.

GAMES (optional)
If you choose, an easy game could be “name that drink/shot.” Before the party, use index cards and write the ingredients to a mixed drink (or shot, if you choose) on one side and the name of the drink on the other. Create 20-25 cards so that each guest will get to play twice. During the game, one person reads the drink ingredients and another guesses the mixed drink name. (Or, conversely, you could read the drink name and ask the “contestant” to list the ingredients.) The guest who gets the most correct answer wins a prize.
NICE TOUCH
Encourage guests to bring along their favorite drink recipes. Include a few, blank recipe cards with the invitation. Compile all the cards into a recipe book or place in recipe box for the bride.
You can also create a signature drink for the shower. For example, if the bride’s name is Margaret, you could whip up “Margar-itas” or a one-of-a-kind “Margaratini” with her favorite ingredients.
